Sweet shops adorn downtown Oakland. Favorites of mine include Gregory’s Gourmet Desserts that has the best tasting coffee cookies around and Carolyn Wong Cakes that makes tasty cakes for any occasion.</p>
<h2>Entertainment, Culture and Oakland Homes</h2>
<p>Either a short drive or within walking distance of some of the Oakland homes there is plenty to do. The Oakland Zoo has a fine collection of animals to visit throughout the year. While there is always some cultural event happening within Oakland. Oakland Greek Festival, Cinco De Mayo Festival, and Chinatown Streetfest all offer a great cultural experience to those living within the Oakland area. These festivals provide a great opportunity to try some of the cultural foods and see some of the great entertainment through the festivals. Oakland also has a great nightlife for those that enjoy going to the bars and nightclubs with Luka’s Taproom and Lounge, Pat’s Bar and Roy’s.</p>

<h2>Outdoor Activities and Newark Homes</h2>
<p>Newark homes are within walking distance or just a car ride away from some of the prettiest and spacious parks in the area. Ash Street Park, Bridgepointe and Newark Community Park are some of the greenest parks in the area with picnic areas and plenty of space to run, bike or play. Ardenwood Historic Farm Regional Preserve is located right across from the Newark Shopping Center and has some fine outdoor areas that are accessible from any of the Newark houses.  Newark also offers plenty of recreational centers that house pools, basketball courts and other activities.
